Privacy Policy
AI x SFC Player is a research project. It has no accounts, and your game files never leave your browser.
Data that stays in your browser
The player keeps the following only in your browser’s storage (IndexedDB and localStorage) on your device:
- the last five ROMs you loaded, so you can reopen them
- save states and in-game saves (SRAM)
- key profiles, cheat codes and AI connection settings
We cannot see any of this. To remove it, use “Clear list” in the player, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
ROM files
ROMs are read by JavaScript in your browser. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
AI connection (MCP bridge)
When you press “Connect AI”, the page connects to an MCP server running on your own computer (localhost). Screenshots, on-screen text and memory values from the game are sent from the page to that local server, and from there to the AI tool you use (for example Claude Code or Codex). That tool’s provider handles the data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive it.
Analytics
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views in aggregate, without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
- Google Analytics 4 sets cookies, and Google processes data such as your IP address and device information under the Google Privacy Policy. If your browser’s time zone is in Europe, it loads only after you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of each page. Elsewhere it runs without cookies for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and you can opt out by blocking cookies for this site or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- In the player (
/player/), Google Analytics only counts visits.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
